Sawubona. Bienvenidos. Welcome. What up. Hello.
Today begins MODULE 1 Cleanliness as a rest practice.
These are your practice guidelines for the next two weeks. Dreamworking is a practice in patience and listening. Take your time. New modules will be uploaded approximately every two weeks on Wednesdays.
Practice Guideline 1: Experience your medicine.
Watch this video in a ceremonial way. Ceremony is a protocol to connect you with Yourself and with Spirit. Other words folks have used: Mindfulness, Meditation, Time Out, Vibe, Prayer, Sacred Space, Ritual. Watch and Listen to this medicinal video. Quietly. With headphones and reverence.
What do you feel in your head? What do you feel moving? What do you feel in your heart? What do you feel in your feet?
Watch this video again throughout the week. Create a ceremony protocol for experiencing your medicine.
Practice Guideline 2: Begin your dream journal.
Keep a journal beside your bed. Journal before sleeping and upon waking.
Write an introduction of the future self that you want to meet very soon.
“Nikki Giovanni reminds us that “Style has a profound meaning to Black Americans. If we can’t drive, we will invent walks and the world will envy the dexterity of our feet. If we can’t have ham, we will boil chitterlings; if we are given rotten peaches, we will make cobbles; if given scraps, we will make quilts’ take away our drums, and we will clap our hands. We prove the human spirit will prevail. We will take what we have to make what we need. We need confidence in our knowledge of who are.” We always being our business planning session with a conversation on this prophetic quotation”
- Leah Penniman, Farming While Black

Practice Guideline 3: Decide what you want to clean.
Make a goal of what you'd like to clean - past, present and/or future. As you decide, consider the below context.
What and where is the medicine in cleanliness? Is outside clean? Is your breath clean? What is refreshing? What is joy?
According to Kongo-influenced Hoodoo traditions, we store information and power in our breath. If Kongo or Hoodoo is not part of your personal lineage, how have you observed breath used by your elders?

New Moon Ceremony (10/6 in Libra): Ceremony can be performed the day before, the day of and/or the day after the New Moon. What other ceremonies will be you participating in this New Moon?
Practice Guideline 5: Rest and Reflect. Clean your room, listening to music and dancing; sit on the porch, clean your body; clean your diet, nap, walk outside, etc.
Each module you will experiment with ways to archive and preserve your dream lineage medicine. For the first module, document your rest practice in a creative way that is beneficial for you. This information can be kept private or shared with people you trust.
MODULE 1 REFLECTION QUESTION: What is rest?
Journal about your reflection question and if you’d like share a few reflections at Ocean Hour on 10/2 and 10/9.
