week 6 Ancestor Veneration II

For those who are ready, able, and willing, we will plant seeds for our ancestor veneration to happen in the waking realm and dream realm. In what ways can we slow down to witness and celebrate the changes that are happening as a new world is being birthed.

Practice Guideline 1: Experience Your Medicine

  • As we experience war, battle fatigue, and the effects of post-capitalism, it is imperative that we find joy. As war survivors, this is what we do - we find a way to keep surviving. We do it together, because we are here to care for ourselves first, then to care for the earth, care for each other and make paths for the next seven generations.

  • What do you need on your path right now to experience abundance? Ask yourself: What do I need right now - spiritually and in terms of care - for myself, and to be able to care well for my community and descendants?

Practice Guideline 2: Maintain.

  • Hydrate, organize your dream journal, upkeep your altar. Continue the practices of Module 1-6. Consider the modules as practices to begin mapping your experience. Consider the nervous system (sensation) as a communication system. “The body is a portal, listen and become wise.” - TBN

  • Watch TBN’s presentation at Hoodoo Virtual Conference 2021.

  • All of your surroundings are also portals.

  • Review “Portal” Definition/

Portal: “An object is a space filled by the coming together of two (or more) voids. A void can also be thought of as a “without” (in relation to a “with) or negative space.”

    Examples

Two hands clapping or a red mark on a white paper

Dreams: Memory, Future-sight, DejaVu through the experience of an object.

These portals can be curated. Take your time. There’s a lot to feel, see, hear, smell, taste, and experience.

  • Observations to consider: What is in your physical space? What is in your mental space? What is in your emotional space? What is in your spirit space?

Practice Guideline 3: Schedule your time to share in Ocean Hour

  • A signup sheet will be sent via email.

Practice Guideline 4: Rest and Reflect

Sometimes we are presented with anguish, death, and fear on our journeys. As we experience shifts like this, sometimes we might want to consider slowing down and allowing ourselves to feel every part of it. We can allow ourselves to create a bubble of safety for the tide of fear, anger, and grief to pass over us. This too is a way to rest.

MODULE 6 REFLECTION QUESTION: WHAT IS MEDICINAL PRESENCE? WHAT DO I NEED RIGHT NOW - SPIRITUALLY AND IN TERMS OF CARE - FOR MYSELF, AND TO BE ABLE TO CARE WELL FOR MY COMMUNITY AND DESCENDANTS?
